      MONTECITO HEIGHTS LOCAL ISSUES COMMITTEE MEETING Thursday, November 21, 2013 • 8:00 p.m. • Montecito Heights Senior Center, 4545 Homer Street, Los Angeles 90031 A G E N D A

      1. Welcome and Introductions - Martha Benedict, Chair (1 min.)

       

      2. General Public Comment (10 min.) The public may provide comments to the board on nonagenda items within the Neighborhood Councils subject matter jurisdiction. However, please note that under the Brown Act, the board is prevented from acting on the issue you bring to its attention until the matter is agendized for discussion at a future public meeting. (Limited to 2 minutes per speaker.)

       

      3. ASNC SURVEY RESULTS (5 min.) Discussion of feedback provided by Montecito Heights stakeholders.

       

      4.  REC & PARKS  BUDGET MEETING AT RAMONA HALL 12/4 (5 min.) Attend the Wednesday Dec. 4 Recreation & Parks Community Meeting/Budget Discussion at Ramona Hall, 6:30 p.m. The input from the meeting (and 14 others City-wide) will enable Rec and Parks to determine the budget for operations and maintenance over the next five years. (More information at http://laparks.org.) per Council File 13-0807 passed this past July.

       

      4.  LAFD SuRVEY (5 min.) The Los Angeles Fire Department is partnering with USC to develop a Strategic Plan that will make fundamental changes to the department. Please fill out http://surveymonkey.com/s/LAFD. Completed surveys are due on December 1, 2013.

       

      5.  DASH SERVICE (5 min.) ASNC’s Planning & Land Use Committee (PLUC) has appointed Roy Payan and Martha Benedict to research how new DASH service routes are established, specifically to facilitate more Gold Line use. Discussion and possible action regarding routes that will benefit residents of Montecito Heights.

       

      6. UPCOMING LOCAL EVENTS (5 min.) Arroyo Arts Collective Discovery Tour Sunday 11/24 starting at Lummis Home. Northeast Los Angeles Holiday Parade Sunday 12/1 noon on Figueroa from Highland Park Rec Center to Sycamore Grove Park. Audubon Center Holiday Crafts Saturday 12/14. Montecito Heights Rec Center Holiday Event Thursday 12/19.
