      Ajai,

I called AP and they said I have the latest. The keypad has version 3.09
and they said it would not interface to the mount unless the mount had the
D chip. They said they've been shipping with that version for two years
and like I said my mount is only 1 year old.

I fixed a bug in the driver for the latest version of ASCOM. This bug
was only apparent when using the focuser interface of the driver.

The AP driver relies on the latest upgraded firmware in the mount. It
sounds like you have the old firmware which would not work. Contact
      AP for an upgrade.

Recently I've been trying to use the Astro-Physics GTO Mount Driver
while beta testing MaxPoint and for trying out ACP. In both
programs I get an error 438 saying that a property or method is not
supported whenever I try to slew. This error pops up immediately
and the slew never starts. I have been using this same driver in
TheSky for over a year with no problems but I don't think TheSky
uses the ASCOM interface of the driver. The same driver also works
in MaxImDL for controlling the scope. I've been having to use the
Generic LX200 Type Scopes driver to control my AP1200GTO mount when
using MaxPoint and ACP but it gives me a slew error about 5% of the
time near the end of the move even though the slew seems to have
      worked just fine.

I can't be the only one that's tried to use ASCOM to control an AP
mount. What driver is everyone using?

I believe the Astro-Physics GTO Mount Driver is authored by Ajai
Sehgal and I noticed he has posted message on this list in the past.
If your listening, let me know if you have any ideas about what
I'm seeing and I'll also offer to debug this problem if the code is
available somewhere. I'm a software engineer and have worked on an
ASCOM focuser driver so I should be capable of helping if you like.
