Re: [ARRL-LOTW] QSL's after CQWW CW
- Hi Phil,
Your results are not unusual. I play in both CW and RTTY contests and I get
the similar results. I thought about this and I can guess why. Part of it
is everyone who does RTTY is utilizing their computers more. The other
reason is more US stations participate in LotW than DX (it's easier for us
to do so). Since you were chasing DX, you didn't work as many US stations.
For us here in the US we are allowed to work US station only in RTTY
contests for the most part. Anyway, that's my opinion, though I do see more
and more DX participating. But for the most part, US stations = the bulk of
In the CQWW CW contest I did as you and mostly only chased new DXCC band
countries though I couldn't resist trying to crack other pileups just for
fun. I only made 65 QSOs and I have gotten 4 LotW QSLs so far. My total
log numbers are 15,177 QSOs with 4,118 LotW QSLs for 27.1%. My RTTY totals
are 5,364 QSOs with 2,617 LotW QSLs for 48.8%. My CW totals are 8,547 QSOs
with 1,449 LotW QSLs for 17%. And Phone QSOs are 1,266 and 52 LotW QSLs for
4.1%. This low percentage on phone is because 1,134 of these QSOs were
prior to 1997. I can't take the 20 meter zoo.
