As we've all noticed by now LoTW seems to have a lot more
participation from U.S. stations then from DX. In fact most of the
DX QSO's I have confirmed via LoTW are U.S Licensees working portable
      in another Entity.

Out of curiosity I recently sorted my logbook to show me only the
QSO's that were with US stations operating from a DX location, that
are not yet confirmed via LoTW. (e.g. VP5/K8KWT). Then using
the "Find Call" function in the LoTW website I checked many of the
U.S. stations calls to see if they had made a submission with their
home call (e.g. worked VP5/K8KWT checked K8KWT). I was amazed at
the high percentage of Stations that have uploaded logs from home but
      not from the DX location.

Most of these are RTTY QSO's with guys in the Caribbean or Pacific
      Islands.

What are you waiting for guys !!

Just because those Entities are not on the Ten Most wanted list
doesn't mean that someone out there doesn't need it for a new band
      counter.

I'd love to see a few "easy" ones added to my numbers. Especially
on 40/80 meters. That would be less cards for me to package up to
      send to Newington.

      Bob (K8KWT)

I must be missing something but it doesn't appear to me that the ARRL is out marketing the system.  I would think they would announce at all of the big hamfast (Both EU and Asia) that they will have a rep there (I think they usually do) and you should bring your documentation and get on the spot sign up.

This is a message I sent to the reflector on June 12th.

I expected that the records would be synchronized by this morning at the latest.

Is this a problem or am I just not understanding the data presented?

                    Fellow Users,

You should be aware that there is a time delay in the Synchronization of the
LoTW data base and your DXCC credit records. I've been told that this
happens nightly so in the interim between when a new credit appears on the
LoTW system and it's validated against the DXCC records, it mat take upwards
                    of a day.

                    As an example:

Today a LoTW RTTY confirmation appeared for CX2AQ. This shows as a
"selected" QSO in the awards section of LoTW but when one looks at the DXCC
record under "view award credit matrix", my record show this as a confirmed
                    credit.

I expect tomorrow morning it will all be as it should be.

Same here - no answers to my emails to lotw-help@.... Why even have
that email address if they're not going to answer?

                      Folks,
Concerning the "selling of LOTW", I brought this up quite a while ago.
Apparently thay are doing this to some extent. Wayne was at HAM-COM
in Arlington a couple of weeks ago and did in fact put on a program about it.
                      Unfortunately I missed it.
Just as we had to be patient for LOTW to come alive, then had to be patient to see the awards program start up...I guess we have to be patient with th eDX stations. Hopefully
they will join in. I've had some pretty rare stuff come through so far.
Concerning the help...early on I had a problem, by my own hand, and Dave and Wayne both were very patient and helped me iron things out.
A phone call might get a quicker answer.
As for me, so far no real complaints, although I woyld like to see a bunch more confirmations myself.
                       73, Tom K5IID

I don't know what their staffing or workload is.
I've received fast answers to "critical" problems, i.e. my password stopped working due to the DXCC connection.

They should post a note "that due to workload they can only answer XYZ"

                        Jim,

I've had good and fast answers to some questions, other nothing.

This is the one I've sent 3 times:

                          Jim,

I agree, it would be nice to simply be told "we're busy and will get back to you some time".

I guess my issue, if it's real-not just my misreading of the reports, it is a serious problem. My LoTW credits are out of sync with my DXCC credits. I know the DXCC report is correct and I know the LoTW shows a "selected" QSO that reduced my "awarded" by 1. Unfortunately there doesn't appear to be a formal definition of "Selected" and Awarded". My assumption is "selected" means a New One (these appear in the Application form as available for submission) and "awarded" means applied to my DXCC records.

I've had this happen before and the DBs synchronized a few days later.

This appear to be caused by a station re-downloading their logs with duplicate QSOs in them and LoTW not looking at your DXCC record to validate that these are no longer needed. I had done a LoTW and a paper submission in May where this Country/mode was credited (from a LoTW QSL) to my DXCC.

Maybe someone can help clear this up.

                          Gerry,

I don't know what their staffing or workload is.
I've received fast answers to "critical" problems, i.e. my password stopped working due to the DXCC connection.

They should post a note "that due to workload they can only answer XYZ"

I've had good and fast answers to some questions, other nothing.

This shows as a
"selected" QSO in the awards section of LoTW but when one looks at the DXCC
record under "view award credit matrix", my record show this as a confirmed
                          credit.

I expect tomorrow morning it will all be as it should be.

that email address if they're not going to answer?

I had N3JWJ in via post card, it was easy to add SV1/N3JWJ and
J42004/N3JWJ for this year. (Much easier than eQSL by the way, but I
get a much better return rate from eQSL so far.)

Well, Darrell N3JWJ seems to have understood what I was trying to say
with my original message on this Thread. What I was getting at is
that there are a bunch of U.S. stations out there that have used LoTW
with their U.S. Call sign. But, when they sign portable from another
Entity... nothing. Since they use LoTW for the home U.S. Call they
obviously are aware that LoTW exists, so it isn't a matter of selling
LoTW to them. That's why I asked what they were waiting for. From
what I've read on this site getting a Certificate for a DX call once
you have your U.S. Call Certificate is as easy as adding an old
                              Callsign.

Obviously a lot of U.S. Stations operating portable from another
entity do use LoTW for both the home call and the DX Call. If they
didn't I wouldn't have half as many DX confirmations as I do now. I
was just surprised by how many U.S. Stations operating portable from
another entity use LoTW for only the home call but not the DX Call.

If it was rare DX I could believe that they were looking for $$$.
But common Caribbean and Pacific Islands ... I don't think so. I get
the feeling that they don't think anyone really needs them. It is
probably true that they wouldn't be New Entities for many folks, but
they would probably give a lot of folks band fills. So if any of you
guys out there are reading this PLEASE Upload your DX logs. Somebody
is bound to need a band fill.

That said I have to agree with those that have made the observation
that the ARRL hasn't made much effort in "Selling" LoTW. Heck at
Dayton they seemed darn near embarrassed to even talk about it. I
couldn't believe it when I was told by an ARRL staffer that it never
occurred to them to have a LoTW booth set up. DOH!!!!
