  • Personally, I am satisfied with the existing format on the match screen. However, I accept (but do not like) the delays I encounter whenever I have to wait for downloads from NFS. Although the additional information might be useful, I would not personally consider it to be worth the wait every time I performed a match. I do not consider this tradeoff to be worth the waits. • Bob: I'm just a user, so I will not (and can not) claim expertise in either New Family Search or in AQ. In the help section of New Family Search, I did a search on "Medieval Families Unit" and found the following report: "The Medieval Families Unit worked in the old Ancestral File (1985-1995) on royalty and nobility to the present and all pre-1500 families, which was an enormous...

  • I am beginning to get concerned. It appears that NFS is becoming increasingly fragile and prone to inconsistent data linkages to third-party software (such as AncestralQuest). Gaylon, do the people at NFS seem to be showing care and diligence with their data integrity? Or are they becoming reckless? Can you tell me if simply Syncing my records to NFS is endangering my local AQ...

  • I've seen the asterisk you describe in #1. However, I cannot guess the meaning either. The term "(unofficial)" in #2 would be caused by either of the following: a. The temple name and date is a user-entered field in Ancestral Quest. If the new.FamilySearch database does not show matching information, it looks like new.FamilySearch displays the user-entered field and adds the word...

  • I've observed the same thing. Your suggestion would shorten the number of lines in the places list for that event for that person. But it would not reduce the number of nFs entries for that person. In other words, if 85 people had performed ordnances already, it would still read 85. By the way. This duplication is presently a function of New Family Search, not Ancestral Quest...
