      Yth,

rangka penerapan Code of Conduct ber-Internet, pencegahan dan penindakan

      Wassalam,
      S Roestam

Yth Pak Sofyan, Pak Sumitro dan rekan2,

Saya turut mendukung gagasan Bapak untuk meninjau segala cara
untuk peningkatan kinerja Internet Indonesia. Namun perlu
diingat agar kita tidak perlu melakukan "reinvent the wheel"
Coroneous dari Internet Industry Association of Australia
      (contact pts ada dibawah).
Selamat Hari Raya Iedul Adha (bagi yang merayakan) dan Selamat
      Tahun Baru 2007!

      Wassalam,
      Idris Sulaiman

      (2) ROUNDTABLE FOR ISP INTERNATIONAL POLICY AND ENGAGEMENT
      (R4IIPE)
We will run this as a separate event from APRICOT 2007, but
will time itso that it immediately follows that event. This will give those
of youwith an interest in the APRICOT agenda to attend both events.
You willneed to register for APRICOT separately.
      See: http://www.2007.apricot.net/accommodation.html

Our event will run from 2-5 March at Nusa Dua in Bali.

We have secured low season rates for attendees at the following
      venue.http://www.balidiscovery.com/hotels/hotel.asp?Id=408

Please advise if this venue will meet you needs so we can
confirm finalnumbers. If not, there are alternative accommodations available
that wecan pursue, though they may be more expensive.

Our meetings will be held at a nearby conference facility, and
I willsend details once we have confirmed final numbers. I assume our
relatively small numbers will allow us to use a meeting room style
facility and we will request data projection equipment to enable
      presentations.

      Costs:
Participants will cover their own travel and accommodation
costs - butthere is no charge to attend our event - that is the beauty
      of
      runningour own show.

As previously discussed, the proposed agenda will cover the
followingtopics, though you should feel at liberty to add any issues
that youthink will be common ground between us and for which a common
      international position will assist.

You are invited to present on any or all of the following topics:

      - data retention
      - interception
      - copyright
      - spam
      - child protection and filtering
      - other issues of mutual importance

In addition, I think there is support for the signing of a
mulitlateralMoU between our respective organisations so we can formalise
      cooperationon agreed areas.

      Outcomes:

It is expected that we will achieve the following outcomes from
      this forum:
      • a better understanding of internet regulation globally, as it
applies from the perspective of industry and under our leadership role

      • sharing of strategies to counter inappropriate regulation

      • sharing of strategies to promote effective political engagement

      • showcasing of successful models for internet self regulation and
coregulation - these can be a template for closer harmonisation
      between jurisdictions where appropriate

      • establishment and reinforcement of working relationships
between our associations and our leadership

      • an enhanced understanding of emerging trends in internet
policy, and where the risks lie for industry and our collective members

      • the signing of a multilateral cooperation and information
sharing agreement (MoU) between our associations that will
      underpin future work together

We have invited APJII which is the Indonesian association to
co-chairthe proceedings as we are guests in their country.

At this stage, I'd appreciate an indication of who will
definitely beattending this event so we can finalise all arrangements and
book avenue for meetings which is large enought to accommodate us all.

Once we get confirmation of who is attending and presenting, we
willfinalise a formal program for the 3 days.

Please let me know if you think I have forgotten anything so we
      can tieup any loose ends.

      Thanks and regards

      Peter
