Wellll... when last seen, that's where he was.

I see McDyess having improved almost every season from '96 to '01 :

year team min Pct Sco Reb Ast PF TO
      1996 Den 30 .509 15.2 9.3 1.2 3.9 2.4
      25.7
      1997 Den 35 .501 17.7 7.9 1.5 4.0 2.8
      26.7
      1998 Phe 30 .561 20.1 9.4 1.6 4.2 2.1
      32.3
      1999 Den 39 .505 19.8 11.1 1.7 3.4 2.7
      33.6
      2000 Den 33 .528 20.7 9.1 2.1 4.3 3.1
      31.5
      2001 Den 37 .527 21.5 12.3 2.2 3.2 2.4
      35.8

In his 2nd year, he picked up his scoring a bit.

Year 3, in Phoenix, he played less, shot better, turned it over a
lot less. Not that he's a huge turnover guy (I know DeanO shows
this as his outstanding year, while for me it's part of a smooth
      progression)

Back in Denver, with big minutes, he concentrated on rebounding and
      not fouling.

      Year 5, back to scoring.

Year 6: Every category up (rebounds especially), fouls and
      turnovers way down.
