      There has been raised the issue of ranking players' playoff
      performance next to their regular-season careers. The short way to
      do this is to consider a 'playoff career', with totals, averages, etc.

      I've looked at the careers of some 600 players, from great to semi-
      significant, and measured each playoff appearance relative to the
      guy's stats for that season.

      It seems the average player's production rates diminish to about 95%
      of his season productivity. Taking this standard, I've deduced an
      equivalent gain or deficit for each playoff-year for each player.

      So, if Reggie Miller goes from a season of scoring 20 pts a game to a
      playoff of 150 pts in 5 games (30 per), he has scored an 'extra' 5 x
      5 = 25 points. Of course, I do it per-minute and standardized.

      The top of the list, in career 'extra' pts + reb + ....

      835 Michael Jordan
      675 Bill Russell
      578 Hakeem Olajuwon
      577 Reggie Miller
      548 Kareem
      545 Isiah Thomas
      476 Jerry West
