No anthro report in the Qumran article, but there is a section on "Burial at the Site." They write (pp. 397-399) that they examined 9 tombs, 4 of which had no bones, 4 with bones of adults ranging in age from 25-60, and 1 contained a wooden coffin. In 2 of the tombs without bones, 14 jars with lids were found (photographs). The jars contained the residue of an organic material, probably date honey. The jars date to the 2nd or early 1st c. BCE. The authors suppose that these tombs were dug in the Hasmonean period or even the Iron Age but were never used for burial, rather for other purposes.

Joe Zias asks: Sam is the anthro. report on the skeletons inc. ?
