The Second International Congress on Ancient History/Third National Congress on Ancient History is a proposal to the scholars of Ancient History, in order to strengthen ties amongst Ancient Near Eastern History, Graeco-Roman History and Classical Studies, by bringing together researchers from academic institutions all over South America and the world.
This announcement is an invitation for historians and other scholars from different disciplines (Archaeology, Literature, Philosophy, Art, Education) interested in ancient periods of the Old World. Apart from the classic historical issues concerning social, economic and power relations, there will be sessions dedicated to literature and society, religion, and gender studies. In this sense, we expect to create a place to discuss common questions and problems in diferent periods and places of the Ancient Old World.
In the framework of the Congress, it is planned to open a Research Forum, from which we hope to produce a data bank on different projects dealing with Ancient History in Argentina, South America and elsewhere in the world. Aside from the Argentinian colleagues, researchers from Germany, Spain, Israel, Chile, Uruguay, Mexico and Brazil have committed themselves to be present.
Congress Venue: Escuela de Historia, Facultad de Filosofía y Humanidades, Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, Ciudad Universitaria, Ciudad de Córdoba, República Argentina.
