      Professor Blahoslav Hruška, today’s most famous Czech assyriologist, has
      died unexpectedly in the night of 26/27th of June, during a trip to
      Slovakia.

      Born on the 5th of Mai 1945 Blahoslav Hruška studied Assyriology at
      Charles University Prague and at Munich, was employed at the Oriental
      Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences since 1971, 1989-1997
      editor-in-chief of Archív orientální, visiting professor at many
      Institutes in Germany and Italy, in the last years director of the
      Institute of the Study of Religions at the Hussite Theological Faculty at
      Charles University Prague.

      Besides his scholarship, Blahoslav will be remembered as helpful,
      good-hearted and sincere and we will all miss him.
