Herodian limestone blocks
- Near the Jaffa Gate is the "Tower of David" with remains of Herodian masonry from a NW corner of the Roman era Jerusalem and presumably one of Herod's three towers in the area.
The photo shows the lower courses of the tower are of Herodian stone:
