    In US law, that was a dismissal, not an acquttal -- there was no trial at all (a much more satisfying outcome). Is British usage (the story is from the BBC)

      Is British usage (the story is from the BBC) different in this matter? I don't suppose anyone here is up on contemporary Turkish legal terminology ...
