      Ruins of an ancient Galilean town have been found in a field below the modern town of Migdal to the north-east of the excavated ruins of Magdala at the NW corner of the lake.  


      Josephus may have described a town near this site as Taricheae, in his Wars of the Jews, Book III, Chapter X.  Some disagreed and thought Taricheae was to the south of Tiberias.
