      Dear Archaeology Supporter,
This year a record 179 students and junior scholars from around the
world applied for American Schools of Oriental Research (ASOR)
fellowships to fund their fieldwork in the Near East. ASOR now has an
opportunity to support an unprecedented number of students. So, for the
first time in our history we are conducting a fundraising
campaign--called “March Fellowship Madness,--to increase the
number of Platt Fellowships given to students in 2012. Help us put more
players in the field this March!

      2012!

Our goal during the next three weeks is an ambitious one. Simply put,
we would like to give 53 students fellowships of $1000. Traditional
methods of funding have already generated enough to cover 33 of the 53
fellowships we need to reach our goal. We are appealing to you for a
gift of at least $25 in support of the $20,000 we need to award 20
additional fellowships! If we exceed our goal, ASOR will award even
      more fellowships.

Donating today is a great way to ensure the current and future health
of archaeology as a profession. For professors and project leaders,
donating is a great way to support the students you rely on each field
season! You can read about past fellowship recipients on ASOR’s
      blog <http://asorblog.org/?cat=94> .

students to the field by donating today.
