      Apparently, Manning is still saying that a late 17th
      cent. eruption will only impact chronologies between
      1700-1400. How, if according to Bietak, the Egyptian
      New Kingdom began more than fifty years before Thera?
      Some dates in the 1st millennium would also have to be
      raised.
