      Dear ANErs,

In her book Myths from Mesopotamia (2000), p. 126, n. 20, Stephanie Dalley says that the traditional translation of Akkadian ere:nu as "cedar" is probably wrong, and the Akkadian term refers to a kind of trees that includes, but is not necessarily limited to, pine.
Is anyone acquainted with the studies discussing the identity of Akkadian ere:nu, on which Dalley's comment is based?

      With best regards,

      Yigal Bloch
