The current economic crisis means cut backs at all levels. Local government and community service agencies face difficult decisions about how to provide vital services with significant fiscal constraints. Perhaps the answers to some of these difficult questions will come from the community.
Join us and our conference partners, Common Sense California and the Silicon Valley Leadership Group for an in-depth look at how to engage the community. This conference will provide the tools and techniques to engage residents from a wide variety of backgrounds in true community engagement. Conference attendees will:
● learn what civic engagement is and the five criteria for rating it successful
● understand the evolution of government including the difference between a customer and a citizen
● hear about best practices and successful examples of civic engagement
● participate in an engagement exercise
