      The small pond north of the "spit" at Carr-Gottstein Park had very good shorebird numbers at high tide this afternoon, including at least 84 GREATER YELLOWLEGS, 4 LESSER YELLOWLEGS, 43 DOWITCHERS (both species represented), 3 PECTORAL SANDPIPERS and the aforementioned STILT SANDPIPER (photos here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/scullybirds/).  A flyover GOSHAWK was also nice.  This might be a good place to keep an eye on during high tides this weekend.
