Kasilof Flats Sharp-tailed Sandpiper
- One juvenile Sharp-tailed Sandpiper was seen Monday the 9th among 70 Pectoral Sandpipers at the mouth of the Kasilof River during the late in comming tide. Migrating Peregine Falcons and Merlins have been keeping the shorebird flocks moving. There are also plenty of Pectoral Sandpiper flocks on the Kenai Flats too so Sharp-tailed Sandpipers should be found there also. Other shorebirds seen at the Kasilof included 1 Black-bellied Plover, 8 Greater Yellowlges, 2 Semi-palmated Sandpipers, and 1 Black Turnstone.
