One of the first days up here with some substantial melting which really got the birds moving. Highlight was a PAIR of AMERICAN KESTRELS. A rare spring overshoot to the slope but first time I've ever seen more than one. Also 5 NORTHERN WHEATEARS was a good number to see. Single TREE SWALLOW is also rare but seems about annual in the spring.
The geese have been arriving steadily with the majority being GREATER WHITE FRONTED GEESE. Smaller numbers of CANADA GEESE. A few TUNDRA SWANS trickling in as well. No ducks yet.
