As an ADF&G biologist, I'm conducting a research project to document the
current distribution of Gray-headed Chickadees in Alaska. If anyone
sees and can photograph this species (or have already taken photos of
such), I would be keenly interested in this information. Because of
the specie's similarity to other chickadees, only photographs that can
be positively identified will be useful, though reliable sightings
unaccompanied by photos would also likely be valuable.
Please see the attached flyer for more information and feel free to post
it/forward it digitally or via hard copy.
Thanks for any help you can provide - most appreciated! Please feel
free to contact me if you have any questions.
And last, I realize that location information for this rare and highly
desirable species can be sensitive. Hence, any information provided can
be kept confidential if you so wish. All information will be used for
research purposes only and in an attempt to better understand this
unstudied and rarely seen species in Alaska.
