Alaska 200 Club 2009 Update posted on the web
- Greetings Alaska Birders,
The 2009 update to the Alaska 200 Club is posted on the web at: www.matnet.com/~juneaubird/club_index
There are now 259 club members who have observed 200 or more birds in Alaska. Only one member (Dave Sonneborn) has observed over 400 species of birds in Alaska and 40 members are at or over the 300 species mark. The Club follows the Checklist of Alaska Birds maintained by the University of Alaska's Museum of the North and the Alaska Checklist Committee: www.uaf.edu/museum/bird/products/checklist.pdf as such Iceland Gull, Rock Pigeon and Ring-necked Pheasant are not on the list.
An addendum to the Status of Alaska Birds from my previous post.
Ruddy Duck moves from Casual to Rare in the 16th edition (2010) of a Checklist of Alaska Birds. Sorry for any confusion that this might have caused.
