- A quick Sunday afternoon tour of the Coastal Trail showed that
anybody with any sense has left town already. The mouth of Fish Creek
had Mallards and a few gulls. The pond beneath the Radio Tower,
however, was FULL of Mallards, a few Wigeons, and 2 juvenile Shovelers
with schnozolas as big as they were.
There were 9 Dowitchers still on the island, and the surprise was
a Snipe feeding out in the open in the mud on the island's shore.
A fine sunny day in Northwestern Spenard.
