Designerly Thinking: Bill Moggridge in conversation, Tuesd
To Experience Design London list members:

Following the announcement about the Innovation Forum, the next event (and the first in Forum Design series), is Designerly Thinking: In conversation with Bill Moggridge -- which will investigate the new roles in which design thinking is being promoted in business, from creating new sources of revenue to re-thinking organisational design. This now vogue theme is one the Experience Design group addressed early on with the events 'Designing Business' with Chris Pacione of BodyMedia (2005) and 'Service Design' with Bill Hollins, Kevin Gavaghan and live|work studio (2003). [See Experience Design London: Archive]

This event takes place at the offices of NESTA (in central London) on the evening of Tuesday 12 June. Our speaker and conversant is Bill Moggridge, a founder of IDEO -- one of the world leaders in the user-centered design of products, services and environments -- and author of 'Designing Interactions' (The MIT Press, 2007), which will be on sale.

See Future related events (below) for other interaction design events, including others at which Mr. Moggridge is speaking.

Designerly Thinking: In conversation with Bill Moggridge

What can businesses keen to innovate and improve draw from design? From the Cox Review and the Stanford d.school, BusinessWeek magazine to the Institute of Design Strategy Conference, the role of design in business has taken on new dimensions. From offering new ways for executives to think, to informing corporate strategy, from creating new models for organisational design to providing new sources of revenue, it is argued by many leading commentators that design thinking and methods are increasing in relevance and significance.
Bill Moggridge will present his thinking on this subject, drawing on his pioneering work as a founder of IDEO and the insights offered in his recently published book 'Designing Interactions' (The MIT Press). Then, in conversation, Nico Macdonald will investigate these issues with Mr. Moggridge. We will then open up to an audience discussion around the themes.
