- The Durango Herald, a family-owned daily newspaper in spectacular Southwest Colorado, seeks an experienced copy editor/page designer to join its news desk. Duties include editing staff and wire copy, writing headlines, designing feature and news pages, and proofreading. We want someone who can write headlines that grab readers, design pages that advance stories, and edit copy for accuracy, clarity, completeness and organization. A strong command of AP style, spelling and grammar is essential. Hours include nights and weekends.
The Herald moved last year to a new content-management system with a dynamic web-publishing component. It recently launched a new website and a redesign of the paper.
