Online news editor, Lincoln (Neb.) Journal Star
- The Lincoln Journal Star is seeking a creative and innovative Online News Editor. This position is on our fast-paced online newsroom desk for JournalStar.com. The Online News Editor updates and maintains various parts of JournalStar.com by building article pages, editing and publishing breaking news to the home page and regularly helping to maintain the site.
Web management duties
Manage JournalStar.com by controlling the placement, timing and flow of content from news, features and business sections. Edit headlines and captions. Find and attach related content. Suggest and create new features and pages on the site. Help reporters as they learn to manage new technology.
Social media and web duties
Tweet and post to Facebook under the Journal Star's accounts. Interact with readers via social media. Use social media to help reporters find sources, stories. Use web-based resources like Storify and Google Maps to add content to the site.
Graphic arts duties
Create and post static graphics and/or Flash-based graphics that may or may not coincide with stories. Occasionally create graphics and illustrations for the daily print edition.
