Presentation Editor, Lincoln Journal Star
- The Lincoln Journal Star, serving Nebraska's capital city and Southeast Nebraska, seeks an experienced Presentation Editor who can showcase the excellent work of our news gathering staff and help set and maintain the design standards of the Journal Star.
The Presentation Editor will serve as the primary A1 editor/designer, oversee the night copy desk operations, engage in daily and long-term news planning and assist the News Editor in coaching and guiding news and features editors/designers.
The Presentation Editor must demonstrate strong visual skills, be highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite applications, have a solid background in editing (grammar, spelling, punctuation, style, comprehension and libel), demonstrate excellent news judgment and knowledge of history and current events and be able to make quick decisions under deadline pressure. Often, the Presentation Editor must be able to conceive of and create graphics, photo illustrations or other visual elements to present visually challenged topics. The candidate also should have a strong interest and experience in editing and posting content for online.
Candidates must have a bachelor's degree or better and at least five years of daily newspaper experience as a news editor, copy editor, designer, design editor.
