      The copy editor (consultant) provides support to the editorial staff of Impact Magazine. The candidate will report to the magazine’s Managing Editor. Impact is produced quarterly and is distributed to media leaders, lawmakers, global health leaders and advocates in 67 countries.

      Responsibilities:

      The copy editor is responsible for editing materials for consistency and correctness in typography, style, grammar, spelling, logic and content under deadline pressure during each of the three editorial proofing rounds using Microsoft Word and its Track Changes functionality and Adobe Acrobat using its Advanced Editing and Comments & Markups tools.

      Qualifications:

      The position qualifications include a minimum of one year of copyediting experience with a publication; a Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism or a related discipline; excellent command of English grammar and spelling and the Associated Press Stylebook; proficiency in marking edits using Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat; high level of attention to detail; and the ability to work accurately under fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

      Selected, qualified applicants must successfully complete a copyediting and proofreading test in order to be considered for the position.

      The position will begin at the end of June. This is a remote position.
