      The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) seek an experienced technical writer-editor for a position with the Preventing Chronic Disease (PCD) eJournal (www.cdc.gov/pcd) in Atlanta.

      This is a senior writer-editor position and requires experience and training in scientific writing and editing. PCD is a peer-reviewed electronic journal established to provide a forum for public health researchers and practitioners to share study results and practical experience.

      The journal focuses on preventing diseases such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and stroke, which are among the leading causes of death and disability in the United States. Successful applicants will demonstrate a strong command of grammar, style, and spelling, as well as the ability to edit highly technical scientific documents.

      Familiarity with issues/science/terminology specific to chronic disease is helpful but not required. Applicants selected for an interview will be asked to submit work samples, preferably in Microsoft Word format, with changes tracked. Depending on qualifications and experience, the salary range is $71,901.00 - $93,470.00.
