      The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) seek an experienced technical writer-editor for a position in the Pittsburgh Research Laboratory (PRL) in Pittsburgh, PA. This is a senior writer-editor position and requires experience and training in scientific writing and editing. PRL works to conduct scientific research and to promote health and safety issues involving the mining industry, and documents edited will range from text written for the general public, to highly complex articles written for scientific journals. Successful applicants will demonstrate a strong command of grammar, style, and spelling, as well as the ability to edit highly technical scientific documents. Familiarity with issues/science/terminology specific to mining is helpful but not required. Applicants selected for an interview will be asked to submit work samples, preferably in Microsoft Word format, with changes tracked. Depending on qualifications and experience, the salary range is $70,141­--$91,182. Moving or relocation expenses NOT authorized. Applications accepted from March 4 to March 17, 2010.
