      The Lincoln Journal Star is seeking a full-time copy editor. The copy editor should be versatile, with experience and interest in three areas:

      --Editing stories

      --Headline writing, page design and pagination

      --Online news, including editing and posting.

      Occasionally the copy editor will serve as an originating editor or perform other duties as assigned.

      Shifts should mostly be afternoons/evenings, with some holiday and weekend shifts.

      The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in journalism, at least 1-2 years experience copy editing. Online experience preferable, but enthusiasm coupled with some new media experience is acceptable.

      Must be able to edit stories, cutlines and other content for completeness, clarity, tone and legal liability. Must enjoy enhancing and improving the work of others through editing and presentation. This position is well suited to an editor who can work quickly, handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and communicate quickly and clearly to peers, reporters and other editors.
