It is with great sorrow that I must report the passing of my Dad. He died peacefully at home with family on January 25th. I'm a bit partial but he was a fabulous man who patiently taught, influenced, instilled and molded me in his vision. I am so thankful and blessed to have had him in my life. I hope that I can be half the man he was.

Dad came to ABC following a stint with Hank Alexander's outfit called Video Tape Unlimited in the early 60's. For most of his career he was based at the Field Shop in Lodi, NJ where the remote trucks and equipment were stored and maintained when not on the road. Dad worked various capacities from Utility, Maintenance, Lighting, and some camera but really excelled and came into his own with Audio. His talents were utilized on Wide World, Bowling, Golf, College Football, Track and Field, Indy 500, Kentucky Derby, Baseball, Monday Night Football and the following Olympics: Grenoble '68, Munich '72, Innsbruck '76, Montreal '76, Lake Placid '80, Sarajevo '84, LA '84 and Calgary '84. He was also chosen to be part of the pool for Nixon's trip to China in 1972.

People came from far and wide to pay their respects and I truly appreciate everyone and everything that has been said or done over the last two weeks.

Some pictures can be found here at the Legacy site

Sometimes pasted links don't carry through the Yahoo system, if you have trouble try copying the entire string and pasting into your browser. If you still have trouble you can google 'Charles Buckage' and get a link there.

I will share more of Dad's ABC history and memorabilia as I can, if there is any interest.

      Thanks!
      -Clay Buckage
