ADMIN: List Name Change Info - Please Read!
- Hello All,
Some important news! Onelist and eGroups Sites Merge!
Some have known for quite a while that Onelist and eGroups were
merging. The corporate merger took place at the end of last year but
the merger of the two sites has taken longer. Many modifications
were needed, many hundreds of man-hours expended.
Well, this is to announce to you that the Onelist site will be down
intermittently starting late Friday night and continuing into late
Saturday. The list mail will be processed as usual but the web site
might be difficult to access if you tend to read your mail at the site.
There should be No interruption of List Mail. Business as Usual.
The reason? The two sites are being merged this weekend!
Starting on Sunday you should be able to start using the new list address.
"What's the new list address?" you ask. The name of this list will change
from (listname)@onelist.com to (listname)@egroups.com. The first part of
the group name, before the "@", will remain the same.
Don't start using the new address until Sunday! And don't worry if you
don't get a chance to change to the new address until later. We have been
informed that e-mail directed to the old @onelist.com address will
continue to be delivered indefinitely, but we highly recommend that you
change your address books to the new address shortly after the change is
completed, in order to avoid problems or confusion.
If you experience any difficulties during this transition, please e-mail
me directly: jptorpey@... . Be sure to include the name of
the list on which you are having a problem.

PS: All the Onelist URLs will continue to work indefinitely. They will
be using "redirects" for all the current URLs and email addresses.
So Don't Panic! Even if you don't make the recommended changes, your
list mail will still be delivered and you'll continue to receive mail.
PPS: This is being sent to all the lists I moderate. Some of the lists
have already been informed, particularly the "help" lists. Please
feel free to use this message as a template for informing your own
