Probably no one has tried very hard then..
- Lantronix has some cool telnet->modem gadgets
- Coders can pull it off if they wanted.. its not even very hard
- An emulated machine can emulate ring signals.. not hard.
(I know, I've written an emu and telnet frontend for my BBS :)
