  • Ian, A sketch might help. If you are doing a bantered wall as DH thinks, then the hypotenuse of the triangle can be calculated. Then scan your brick paper, enlarge it by the ratio of slope divided by vertical height and print. The courses should then line up. • Mike, You say " In any case the rear car park is some distance from the entrance to the building in King Edward Place and the old entrance to the car park has been closed." Is that 'entrance' the ramp/steps at what I'd easiest describe as to the right of where we usually have the Association Sales stands ( as seen by someone behind the stall?) or do you mean the entrance to the car...

  • Leigh, I'll echo Narrow Planet. I've had custom made plates done, very pleased with the quality and price. You get a proof set against a grid for size e-mailed. If you can help, say a photo of the plates and a size that has to ensure accuracy. • Before I set up the lathe to turn down some Gibson axles, does anyone have any Hamblings axles lurking in a tin somewhere? • No Adrian, not entirely, or at least I don't think so. I've found a way, not necessarily the right one. At the outer ends there are as you say bars just to keep all aligned whilst you solder the slide bars together. However in the middle of the etch, where you'd normally just bend them double it is more complicated. Imagine two bars, top and bottom slidebars. In the middle at the...

  • Help please. I have one of these underway, bought from S/H some years ago. I've no destructions, but as I'm adding outside frames and a High Level gearbox that hasn't mattered, until now. I'm about to bend up the slide bars, but they aren't the usual just fold back on themselves type. Does anyone still have the kit with instructions or know how the two vertical bits in the middle are supposed to go? Frank

  • Many years ago, Mikes Models did a series of water columns for both O and OO gauges. For O or maybe it was OO gauge there was a spoof Tibetan Water Column with a Dragon Head as discharge. Anyone got one (or more) lurking in a box which they would like to convert to (little) money? Replies off group if you don't want to known to possess one! Frank
