Group Description

This group has been founded to facilitate the reconnection of
first enlistment (non career) US Army ASA (Army Security Agency)
workers... translators, diddybop, signals, crypto, etc who served in Berlin, Germany between the end of WWII through the end of the "Vietnam Era" at one or more of the several US Army electronic monitoring sites scattered across Berlin, including Teufelsberg, Templehof, Grunewald, Rudow and housed in the former German facility at Andrews Barracks.

These unit designations included 280th USASA Company, 78th ASA SOU, 54th ASA SOC and finally Field Station Berlin. The most members of this forum served in Berlin before the Berlin unit name was changed to Field Station Berlin.

This group's focus is for first time enlistees who did not remain in the army so are not members of traditional veterans groups.

However, the group is also open to anyone who served at or had a relationship with any of 78th (or any of the stations various names) personnel in Berlin if you submit information related to those connections.
