Looking for other Vietnam Vets from the 538 Transportation Battallion from the 64th Quartermaster Battalion, part of the 1st Logistical Command. We were called "Heavy Stickers" or "Petro Main." We wore a patch called the "Leaning Shithouse." Looking for Tommie Beavers, Robert Avila, Herbert Miller, John Baca, Espinosa, Woods, Albaugh, Baker, Gordon Lightfoot,Ashment, Fimmel, Crosby, Abel, Bell, Belts, Boykins, Don Hoffman, Langdon, westment, Sargent Bill Markham and any of the guys from Jan. 1969- Feb. 1970. Larry Cox and Richard Carson sent me pics of our time together. It doesn't matter what year you served, please add your info to the data base on the left; it give others a better chance of finding you. We found Larry Cox, Dick Carson, Cletis Blackburn, Gary Brooks, Kevin Stubbs, John Booth and my brother Richard Brown who was a cook in our company.

The year I served with the 538 Trans; there were 22 men from the second plattoon that TDY to Camp Evans to help support the Marines in their effort.
Richard Carson, Kevin Stubbs, Cletis Blackburn, John Booth, Frank Sidelinger, Espinosa, John Baca, Herbert Miller, Don Hoffman.

Jerry Thompson died from the burns he sustained in an ambush in Bihn Long Province, April 28th, 1969 during a convoy. His truck was hit and caught fire. He stayed in his truck and drove it off the road so the rest of the convoy wasn't trapped. Tommie Beavers was also burned, but survived.

Frank Sidelinger was our wrecker driver; he passed at 41 after suffering from what sounds like the side effects of Agent Orange.

You can call David Brown; 610-704-6392, or send email, lessaweaver@yahoo.com
