From The New York Times, Aug. 10, 1892:

"The inquest was continued at 10 o'clock today...

"Dr. Bowen told a straightforward story, covering the time since he was
called to the Borden house a few days before the murder. He incidentally
gave some evidence which startled the authorities.

"The nature of this will not be given for publication..."

      -- "The Lizzie Borden Sourcebook", p. 45, col. 1

Since it had already been widely reported that the household had been
sick since the Tuesday before the murders, and had also been reported
in various papers that Abby had gone across the street to see Dr. Bowen
on Wednesday prior to the murders, and that she had stated that she
worried that they were being poisoned, it would seem that it wasn't THAT
which The NY Times, the newspaper whose motto has always been "All
The News That Is Fit For Publication", was cryptically alluding to...

So what could it have been that Dr. Bowen said that The Times decided
was NOT news fit for publication???
