Okay, I watched the Lizzie Borden segment on the show they rebroadcast last night...

If you missed it, you didn't miss much...

Instead of devoting the whole show to the Borden house, it was 1 of 4 or 5 places they went to on the show, which tells you something right there.

They had a bunch of kids in their late teens, early 20s, who have absolutely no experience in paranormal investigations, running around with thermal cameras which they had no idea how to operate.  Lots of girls screaming at the least little noise...

They had someone who was supposed to be one of the house's tour directors stating that Lizzie had killed Abby's cat, as if it were the truth instead of a rumor/legend that arose after the murders...to me that was downright unprofessional.

Sure enough, a few minutes later as the kids 'investigate' what was either Lizzie's room or Abby & Andrew's bedroom, a "cat" is heard to be wailing inside a closet.  When the closet door is opened, no cat, but the sound of a cat wailing travels across the room.  That, and the lid on a box on a dresser on the top floor slamming shut was presented as "proof" that the house is haunted.

To me it spells H-O-A-X.  Smelled too much of the Ghostbusters segment on the Queen Mary, just too coincidental that the QM "Ghost Tour Director" tells them about an allegedly haunted stateroom, and then an obvious hoax in that room was later pulled....

In this case you had the supposed "Tour Director" of the Borden Bed and Breakfast making a big deal about Lizzie killing Abby's cat -- "That shows how much hate was in this house...I BELIEVE this house IS haunted!", and then a "ghost cat" manifests right on queue for the squealing, screeching, screaming girls "investigating" that room.

But I'm sure bookings at the B&B will now rise as thrill seekers hope to be scared by a phantom cat....
