ALE ACTIVATION FOR GLOBAL SIMULATED EMERGENCY TEST
      ==== SATURDAY 3 MAY 2008 ====

Ham operators with Automatic Link Establishment
(ALE) capability are encouraged to participate in
the GlobalSET (Global Simulated Emergency Test)
communications exercise on the air Saturday 3 May 2008.
The objective is to promote international readiness
for emergency/disaster relief communications, and to
provide valuable knowledge of the resources that
can be mobilized in the event of a real emergency.

GlobalSET is sponsored by IARU (International Amateur
Radio Union). You don't need to be part of an Emcomm
organization to participate in the GlobalSET, and
      you can use any mode.

If you do have ALE capability, it is easy to
send your GlobalSET "readiness message" to
GlobalSET Headquarters via ALE HF SMS/text email.

The ALE primary data frequency for the 30 metre band
is 10145.5 kHz USB (Centre freq 10147.125kHz) and
it is actively monitored continuously by 12 stations
around the world day and night. There is also an ALE
primary data frequency that is monitored on each HF
      band 80m-10m.

      Complete ALE frequency list:
      http://hflink.com/channels/

Chat room for ham ops using ALE:
      http://hflink.net/qso/

Info about ALE High Frequency Network:
      http://hflink.com/hfn/

ALE software can be used, such as PCALE, Multipsk; or
any HF ALE radios such as Micom2/3, Harris, Icom, Codan,
      R&S, Rockwell-Collins, etc.

Thank you for participating in the GlobalSET!
