The 2nd NJ Volunteers is comprised of three unique and distinctive branches of the Union force during the Civil War specifically; US Cavalry, US Marines and Sailors of the US Navy.

The 2nd New Jersey Cavalry Volunteers, Company A, is a full reenactment Cavalry Unit offering both mounted and dismounted impressions. We portray federal volunteer cavalry as they fought on horseback and as dismounted skirmishers.

The 2nd NJ US Marines Detachment Co. A is a full reenactment Marine Light-Infantry Unit that supports the US Infantry and US Naval Forces by conducting landings, skirmishes, light-artillery support, garrison duty and living history demonstrations.

The Sailors and Seamen of the 2nd NJ Volunteers is a full reenactment US Naval Unit that represents a landing party from the USS Ellis. The Sailors also support the US Infantry and US Marine Light-Infantry by conducting landings, skirmishes light-artillery support and living history demonstrations.

The 2nd NJ Volunteers are active members of the 2D New Jersey Brigade. The 2D New Jersey Brigade is a 501(c)(3) non-profit living history organization dedicated to the commemoration of the people and events of the American Civil War through accurate and educational portrayals.
