Group Description

Originally begun to meet the needs of a small Portland-Vancouver community of blended families of Tibetan and American heritage, our group has quickly grown to reflect an international perspective and is open to anyone in a relationship (past/current/future) that includes a Tibetan partner and a non-Tibetan partner, or the children of such a pairing. This group is meant to be inclusive of all of our lifestyles, situations, and global location.

Here we can talk about our relationships, marriages (or divorces,) our children (or choosing not to have them,) how we are raising children in two cultures, what it is like growing up a child of a intercultural marriage, our in-laws and our travels, and other topics. This is a place where we can come together and learn from each other, and to feel like someone else really knows what we are talking about.

The "TwoBlood" name comes from my Mom's Iranian co-worker, who when seeing a picture of my baby, asked about his father. Hearing he was Tibetan, she said, "Oh, you mean he's a two-blood." I thought this was so much more positive than the typical "half-blood" view of the children of cross-cultural relationships.

On-line we are completely non-political to preserve members ability to access our forums throughout the world. Please honor this.

Tibetan, American, British, French, Australian, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Canadian, Mexican, Swiss, Nepalese, Indian, German, Italian, Swedish, Irish
