"A TERRIFIC NEW PLAY! ANGELICA TORN PLAYS PLATH AS A SEXY, BRITTLE,
LACERATINGLY FUNNY WOMAN IT'S A PERFORMANCE NOT TO BE MISSED!"
- Michael Riedel, NY Post
This summer, for 11-weeks only, Angelica Torn stars as legendary
poet, author and icon Sylvia Plath in EDGE, a gripping new one-woman
drama written and directed by Paul Alexander.
EDGE is an extraordinary look at one of the twentieth century's most
influential literary figures, revealing the true Sylvia Plath not
only as a poet, but also as a child, woman, wife and mother.
Set in a small London flat on February 11, 1963 on what would be
the last day of her life, EDGE is Sylvia Plath's reflection on her
life as a whole, including her early years in Massachusetts, the
untimely death of her brilliant father and the famed suicide attempt
in 1953, which became the basis of her classic autobiographical
novel "The Bell Jar."
EDGE also re-examines Plath's infamous love/hate relationship with
renowned poet Ted Hughes, and ultimately exposes the twisted series
of events that fueled her own death.
Angelica Torn recently received the People's Choice Award and the
Helen Hayes Award for her performance in the Tony Award-winning play
Side Man (in New York, London and Washington). Her recent film
credits include Nobody's Fool (with Paul Newman); Domestic
Disturbance (with John Travolta); Fast Food, Fast Women and The Sixth
