Re: [1listSculpting] VIP2 (was A Greeen by Bobby Jackson)
- Ooooo Good Point! We should stipulate that as an objective for the next one.

seen to be believed. The miniatures I saw from this VIP set at Gencon are
well worth the wait! Try to remember that we may have barely defrayed the
cost of the materials, but the Rodmans are donating their time and energy for

- Hi Jeff,
Thanks for the mention at the bottom of the post. It was not necessary but
it was very much appreciated.
Is there anything I can help with?

The status of VIP2:
The VIP sets are progressing (slowly). I completed one more mold
last weekend and intend to do another one this weekend.
Unfortunately, this afternoon and this evening are not sufficient to
finish up even if I would choose to use the time for that. Many of
these pieces are large, multi-part, and or not well designed. They
are in fact some of the most difficult pieces to mold I have ever
attempted. That said, all the figs have been successfully mastered.
Complete sets of masters do exist and are finished. Everything did
turn out pretty well aside from the head being tilted slightly on
Bob's piece but easily fixed. What is left is to finish a few more
production molds and the actual casting.
This afternoon, I am working on molding Bobby's sculpt along with
other new WarGods Figures. Chris wants to release them as soon a
possible. I will also be molding some pieces for John Ross this
afternoon. When these jobs are finished, I will devote whatever
spare time is left of the weekend to VIP though I can practically
guarantee I cannot finish them this weekend. Unfortunately, events
have conspired to put my spare time in very short supply. I must
prioritize my time as I see fit. I cannot impose restrictions on my
other stuff. This is how I make a living. VIP2, while a fun project
that I do have every intention of finishing, really doesn't qualify
as a high priority project.
I honestly do understand your frustration regarding this issue. I
felt very much the same way while waiting on Jeff Valent to finish
casting his portion of VIP1. I did in fact send him a similar
message urging him to finish up and did my share of complaining
privately to others. Though even then, I would not have taken up the
issue in a public forum. To Jeff Valent, my sincerest apologies for
not being more understanding. Things do look a bit different when
you walk in someone else's shoes.
