Group Description

Discussions about Railway Board Games based on 1829, 1830 and successors.

The 1800s group is for discussing news and play relating to railroad board games based on the concepts of the 1829 and 1830 games originally designed by Francis Tresham.

These multiplayer games entail a simulation of railroad corporation growth and stock market manipulations, while building a railroad
network using a hex track tiles on a specific geography.

The title of the games often relates to a key year that railroad development was started in that region, most of which occured during the 1800's.

There have been a number of games professionally published, and many more fan designs.
