Group Description

L513 (aka DF1/S215) is an SNP subclade of the larger L21+ DF13+ clade. Z249 and CTS5396 are equivalent to L513. L513 people are scattered across the British Isles, Scandinavia, Benelux, France and even Germany. Many of the subgroups have Most Recent Common Ancestors that go back to 800-1200 AD.

There are over 20 subgroups. Several are associated with SNP's. L193, L706.2, L705.2, L908, L909, L577, L9, L10, L192.1, L1333, L69(.5) and P66 are descended from L513.

The largest families include the Anglin, Banks, Barrett of Mayo, McKenzie, McClain/MacLean, St.Clair/Sinclair, Elliott, Kingston, Kelly of Kildare, Little/Lytle, Burns/Byrnes of Monaghan, Maguire/McGuire of Fermangagh, O'Gara, O'Shea of Cork, Ross/Rose of Kilvarock and Massey/Massie, Walsh/Welch/Welsh and Vance/Vans of Barnbarrch, Vance of N.Ireland.
