I did the same thing a couple weeks ago and found online a good place to start is www.schoolexpress.com At least you will have something for him to do to keep up right now. I know that you may not allow your son to go on the internet, but there is also printables and workbooks on there for him. My son is in the 5th grade and I researched this very carefully before I pulled him out. My other 3 children are jealous and want to be home schooled also. But my son at home has ADHD and Aspergers Syndrome so this is better for him. He hasn't been doing very much just yet because we have been so busy with farm work, but the new year he will do a lot more work. Oklahoma does not require any specific subjects that the students have to do and there is no state testing requirements. At least I have not found anything yet. I found the statutes from years ago were different from other states because we are a farming state and the pages I found were updates just this past month. Our special ed. teacher had no idea that there were no statutes concerning subject requirements.
I enrolled my son in a home school class online. All the books and things are sent to you free of charge and it is totally free. The child can go online to do the school work anytime throughout the day and it is supposed to take about 6 hours to complete, but only 30 % is all on computer. The rest is on hands in books and on paper. Check it out. I was told that the registration for this next school year was over on April 1 and that was the day I enrolled. I don't know if there is an extension or not. But it is worth checking out, at least for the following year. If it turns out good, I will have all 4 children homeschooled through them.
I googled it and this is the link that came up. http://go.k12.com/wm/dg/cons/k12/200902/choice/index.html?se=Google&campaign=National_K12_Top_Performers_Job_K120928&adgroup=TP_online_education&kw=virtual%20academy&gclid=CIq0_dymh5oCFSAhDQodXXdyFw
Check it out and see what it is like for your state.
Let me know how it goes and if you need help with anything, let me know. I like to help others when I can.

Subject: [hs reviews] Math CD programs for middle school age?
I am pulling my son out of 6th grade now and need something to help him finish out the year. I hope to find a CD program, he likes to use the computer.
