Group Description

Brain Tumour Support Group is set up by a group of volunteers; involving well patients/caregivers.

We understand that brain tumour patients and their families can have an overwhelming need for emotional support and practical advice. The Brain Tumour Support Group make effort to help such patients and families to cope with many problems associated with the disease. Besides the physical group, the Yahoo Group is also created as a platform for members who could not meet regularly, to recieve updates on the support group activities and to discuss any topics associated with brain tumours. We welcome you to write to us if you are interested to join the Yahoo Group.

By actively participating in discussion and through meeting others who had similar experiences, we hope to be a source of support to you and your family in this battle. Members are encouraged to share in a “what worked for me” rather than an “I think you should” way.

It is also our aim to raise public awareness about brain tumour through education in providing up-to-date information. A variety of topics related to brain tumours would usually be delivered by specialists at the meeting. It is our hope that brain tumour patients and their family members will find the psychosocial and emotional support necessary to improve their quality of life.

We are pleased to be part of the International Brain Tumour Alliance (IBTA) since 2008. For infomation about IBTA, please refer to their website www.ibta.org
