David, perhaps I can be of some use! I remember having the same
problem when I first wired up the turntable - I had to take the whole
thing to pieces to find out how it worked. The diagram is not very
helpful as the colors of the flat cable are in a different order!!
The sequence yellow-gray-green-red-brown are the colors of the
sockets on the turntable itself. The same sequence (4 3 6 2 1) shown
on the diagram under the plugs are the colors of the plugs, not the
cable. The cable colors are shown scattered around the cable: yellow-
gray-blue-red-violet (4 3 5 2 10) but are not in the right order.
The flat cable from the control box has these colors:
Violet - grey or light blue - red - yellow - blue or dark blue.
The plugs have to be fixed onto the cable in this way:
Brown plug onto the violet wire,
Grey plug onto the grey or light blue wire,
Red plug onto the red wire,
Yellow plug onto the yellow wire,
Green plug onto the blue or dark blue wire.
Then the plugs go into the sockets of their own color: brown into
brown, grey into grey, and so on.

I have no idea what those could be. I don't have them on my turntable
(purchased about 4 years ago).
For the record, the connections are used as follows (colors of plugs
Red and brown go to the track on the rotor,
Grey is the common for the motor and the solenoid,
Green is the other connection to the motor,
Yellow is the other connection to the solenoid.
Hope this helps. Jeremy.
